Laser testimonials

Aabigale has suffered from ear infections almost since day one.  We have had her to numerous vets, each believing the ear infections were probably related to allergies and recommending a course of medication, in which the medication helped Aabigale to feel better.  But once the medication was gone, it didn’t seem to take long and the ear infection was back.  In looking for a vet that was more local, we decided to take Aabigale to University Animal Clinic in Harrisburg .  When we took her, Aabigale was suffering from yet another ear infection and we were again told probably related to allergies and given some medication for her.  But unlike the other vets, University Animal Clinic also suggested we try laser therapy on Aabigale’s ears.  At first we took her to laser therapy three times a week along with giving her the medication.  Aabigale began to feel better as she always had before so we were skeptical at first that it was just the medication.  But now we are taking her to laser treatment once every two weeks and have not had to continue the medication and Aabigale is doing great.  She even seems to look forward to going to the vet for her treatment.  Laser therapy seems to be a great alternative to drugs and surgery in providing Aabigale some much needed relief.

Dear Dr. Sain and staff:
I am writing to express my gratitude for recommending and using the laser therapy on my Dalmatian, Hunter. His response to this therapy has truly been incredible, and Hunter’s quality of life is the best it has been in two to three years.
As you know, Hunter is approximately twelve (12) years old and suffers from Osteoarthritis. Over the last year, before any treatment, his symptomatic picture worsened dramatically to a point where this dog was unable to walk. After a first course of treatment with an anti-inflammatory medication, I did see initial improvement. However, after six months the effect of the medication had diminished somewhat, and I resigned myself to the fact that Hunter’s quality of life would never be the same.
While Hunter was taking this anti-inflammatory medication, you and your staff mentioned to me the positive results you were observing with the laser therapy. You made no promises that the same effect would happen with Hunter, but thought that the therapy could be helpful. As a pharmacist, I was highly skeptical of this therapy and wanted to research the data on my own. Although I did find clinical information supporting the therapy, most of the information found was purely marketing propaganda.   However, despite the anti-inflammatory was still working to some degree, it was clearly not the answer. Less than twelve hours after taking the anti-inflammatory, Hunter was unable to stand up and I had to help him up from lying down. As a desperate measure, I chose to try a course of the laser therapy. Although dramatic results are not expected after one treatment, the change in Hunter couldn’t have been more remarkable! This dog was able to sit down during the therapy, and he hasn’t sat comfortably in over a year. His appearance has certainly changed. He doesn’t stand as stiff as he had recently, and he is running around the yard and wagging his tail to the degree that our family hasn’t seen in a couple years.
Thanks to you and your staff for recommending this therapy. Hunter has now been using the laser for roughly two months. Since all dogs respond to the therapy differently, I do not know how long the laser treatment will continue to work. However, the quality of life difference has been unbelievable and certainly worth the effort for treatment.

My dog, Jake, is a lean, 95 pound Labrador retriever.  He was 12 years old this past August.  I was concerned about his heavy breathing and wobbly back legs that faltered frequently on our daily walks.  Dr. Sain suggested trying the laser treatments on his hips and back legs to eliminate arthritic pain.  After the initial six treatments, I've noticed a significant change.  Jake still falters on occasion, but he gets up and down so quickly now. He walks on slick surfaces with more confidence. Jake seems to enjoy the treatments too. I'm glad Jake's "winter years" will be less painful.

I would like to praise the staff at University Animal Clinic. I was concerned over the itching my Scott Terrier was experiencing in his bottom and paws since I moved to North Carolina. I had tried several remedies such as special shampoos and Benadryl with no obvious relief. His bottom itched so bad, I caught him scooting across the concrete patio! I was at the animal clinic with the dog for some yearly vaccinations and I mentioned this itching problem to Chris. She suggested Laser Therapy. She gave me written information as well as explained the benefit of the treatment. As a nurse, I know the value of laser treatments and procedures in humans and I was ready to try anything to bring some relief to my pet. It was amazing the immediate response my pet received. He was so relaxed during the treatment you could see how good it felt to him. The best part was no itching, scooting or licking that evening. Chris explained he may need a few more treatments to receive the full benefit of the immune response the laser provides to his body. After the first 3 treatments he stopped all the itching, licking and scooting. These treatments were very economical, quick to receive and have a lasting benefit. When I observe him licking his paws, I make an appointment, get a treatment and he is relieved for at least one month or more.
I am so happy I took the advice of the staff to try this holistic approach for my pet. I encourage other pet owners to ask about the benefit their pets could receive from these simple, inexpensive treatments.
